Popular Nigerian content creator and singer Oluwadolarz, recently opened up about his tough childhood and the rape allegations he faced in 2020. In an interview on the ‘WithChude’ podcast, he shared how those allegations led to lost jobs, depression, and debt. He said,
“ I lost a lot of jobs. I was depressed because that was the same period I had my child. I paid a lot of debts because they wanted me to repay their money. They did not want to associate themselves with my brand,”
Oluwadolarz also talked about losing his father at just two years old, which forced him to take on responsibilities way beyond his age. By 11, he was the breadwinner, worrying about what his family would eat. To support them, he worked at Dangote Cement factory in Ebute Metta after his music career faced setbacks in 2008. He said,
“I was once a truck loader at Dangote Cement at Ebutee Metta. I was loading pasta,”
“I lost my dad at a very early age, like when I was 2 years old. But I had a stepdad who supported us. He died in 2015. I did not enjoy my childhood. I became a man at the age of 11. At that age, I was contemplating what the family would eat. I started music in 2008. It did not move at all.”
Recently, Oluwadolarz claimed that a gay music executive demanded sexual favors in exchange for promoting his music. Although he didn’t name anyone, prominent music executive Don Jazzy urged him to call out the person.
